Barcelona Needs Fresh Funds

By db-admin

DBasia.news –  FC Barcelona is still trying hard to achieve financial targets in the 2019-20 season.

Barcelona set a target of 145 million euros in terms of player sales last season. The amount was chosen to balance the balance sheet.

Barcelona still needs an injection of 14 million euros to reach the target. That way, Barca can benefit.

Meanwhile, this season, the threshold for income from selling players is pegged higher. Based on Marca’s report, the Catalunya club set 172 million euros.

Currently, Barcelona’s position is still far from the target set. From the sales of Malcom, Marc Cucurella, and the loan of Philippe Coutinho, Barcelona only received 60 million euros.

Inevitably, there is still a distance of 112 million euros from what is set by Barcelona. Barca needs to sell players in the winter of 2020 to reach the target.

In fact, Barcelona can get additional funding if Bayern Munich wants to permanent Coutinho. Because Bayern can permanent the Brazilian player at 125 million euros. However, there is no guarantee that the Bundesliga champion will do it.

Furthermore, Marca reported, Barcelona also experienced an increase in spending to pay player salaries of 32 million euros compared to last season. Barcelona rate, spending 642 million euros to pay player wages is a strong reason for releasing several employees.

Barcelona does all that to comply with the Financial Fair Play. This season, Barcelona is the club with the most wasteful spending with a figure of 1,047 billion euros.
