Barcelona President Guarantees El Clasico Won’t be Delayed
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu ensures that El-Clasico’s match against Real Madrid next week will not be postponed.
Protesters from the Catalan separatist movement, the Democratic Tsunami, called for “massive” protests outside Camp Nou, where Barcelona will play against Real Madrid in La Liga on December 18.
Spain’s most prestigious match was originally scheduled for October 26 but had to be postponed after a wave of pro-independence demonstrations in the city of Barcelona.
“I can say that Clasico will be played, it will not be delayed anymore,” Bartomeu said.
“It is everyone’s responsibility to make sure it works. We know that we live in a complicated period in Catalonia, but all of that can be compatible with sports.”
“Our stadium is a place for freedom of expression, always so, and that’s why we want to send a message of normalcy and calm.”
“The club is preparing Clasico to the fullest and we are telling our fans to come with their family and friends.”
