DBasia.news – Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola uttered his interest to finish his coaching career in Barcelona. He wants to coach La Masia, the football academy of Barcelona.
The team president, Josep Mari Bartomeu raised his comment responding to Guardiola’s interest. He admits that he is ready to welcome him with open arms if the former Barcelona coach in 2008-2012 considers the return.
Not only as the coach, Guardiola’s career as a player is also identical to Barcelona. Apparently, he is one of the alumni of La Masia and supported the senior team until 2001 before moving to Seria A for Brescia.
“Guardiola is genius,” Bartomeu said during his interview with The Times. “I read a few days ago that he’s planning in the future to come back to Barcelona and maybe take care of La Masia.”

“I think it’s good news for our club that he could do that one day. He knows the door is always open for him. Even when he told us he wanted to leave in 2012, we suggested to him he could take care of La Masia. He preferred (a clean break). Nobody told him to leave Barcelona. He could come back in future. He knows this. Why not?” Bartomeu insisted.
Guardiola gained many successes in Barcelona, both as the player and coach. When he was still playing, he brought the team to win the LaLiga title six times. As a coach, he felt three LaLiga titles and two Champions League trophies, the champion title that he didn’t achieve when he was still on the pitch.
Guardiola left Barcelona in 2013 to coach the Germany Bundesliga team, Bayern Muenchen. And then in 2016, he became the coach of City.
