Barcelona Ready to Monitor and Accommodate Matthijs de Ligt
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt is reportedly being monitored by Spanish giants Barcelona. Reportedly, the Dutch national team player is considered not satisfying Juventus, but El Barca has prepared a position for him.
Previously, Mathijs de Ligt was one of Ajax Amsterdam employees included in Barcelona’s transfer plan. One other player with a different ending is Frenkie de Jong. Barcelona brought De Jong in the middle of last season.
Barcelona’s failure to bring De Ligt was caused by several things. One of them is fierce price competition for the former Ajax Amsterdam captain. Reportedly, Manchester City, Manchester United, and Real Madrid also put hearts on De Ligt.
In the end, the latter who appeared later could bring in De Ligt. Utilizing good relations with De Ligt’s agent, Mino Raiola, the Bianconeri walked smoothly.
Reportedly, one of the differentiators is that Juventus are willing to enter a 150 million euro release clause in the contract. Meanwhile, other clubs who are also eyeing De Ligt did not approve the contract.
However, until now, De Ligt’s appearance is still considered disappointing. Having the status of three of the most expensive defenders in the world, De Ligt has become a weak point at the back.
Juventus’ plan is to slowly put De Ligt in the main squad. However, the injury suffered by Giorgio Chiellini ruined the plan.
Seeing the situation, Barcelona glanced back. Based on Don Balon’s report, El Barca is in the status of preparing to bid.
