Barcelona Starts to Search for Junior Firpo’s substitute

By db-admin

DBasia.news –  The Spanish giants, Barcelona, have reportedly started looking for new players to replace Junior Firpo at left back. Reportedly, the performance of Firpo this season has not made the Azulgrana officials satisfied.

Firpo was brought in by Barcelona from Real Betis in the 2019 transfer window with a tag of 18 million Euros. The 23-year-old player also often made mistakes and failed to become a liner to Jordi Alba who this season had suffered a long injury.

According to a reports from El Desmarque, Barcelona has began to explore the possibility to bring in a reliable left-back of FC Porto, Alex Telles. Barcelona reportedly had to disburse funds of 35 million Euros if wanting to bring Telles to the upcoming transfer market.

The news of Barcelona’s interest in Telles is nothing new. In the transfer market last summer, the 27-year-old had also entered Azulgrana’s radar before they finally decided to bring in Junior Firpo.

Telles is not the only left back targeted by Barcelona. Reportedly, Azulgrana also opened the option to bring in Quique Setien’s former player at Real Betis, Emerson Aparecido.

Emerson himself had said that he was not too interested in moving closer to Camp Nou. The 23-year-old player claimed he only wanted to focus on defending Real Betis for the next two years.

“As long as I am still here, I will only think about Real Betis. “I still have a 1.5-year contract here and I don’t want to think about other clubs,” Emerson told Marca in February.
