Barcelona Wants Liverpool Goalkeeper
By news-admin
DBasia.news – The rumor of Europe top goalkeepers’ transfer is trending recently. The domino effect might happen in some clubs if Thibaut Courtois is really leaving Real Madrid.
Chelsea wants Jasper Cillessen as the backup plan if Courtois leaves. Considering this step, Barcelona also prepare plan B to fill the second goalkeeper position.
The first goalkeeper status is on Marc Andre ter Stegen, that’s why Barca’s search for the goalkeeper will be accompanied by one special requirement: willing to be the option for Ter Stegen. It’s not easy to look for this criteria.
However, Barcelona keep trying to find Cillessen’s successor. Reported by Marca (21/7), there are five goalkeepers for Barcelona options, which are: Simon Mignolet (Liverpool), Koen Casteels (Wolfsburg), Yann Sommer (Borussia Monchengladbach), Geronimo Rulli (Real Sociedad), and Marko Dmitrovic (Eibar).
From the names, Mignolet is predicted can be the ideal person to replace Cillessen. The position as the second goalkeeper is not a new thing for him because currently in Liverpool, he is the option for Loris Karius.
Alisson Becker’s coming from AS Roma that broke the goalkeeper transfer record is decreasing Mignolet’s chance to play. Leaving the club that he has been playing since 2013 would probably be the best option for the 30-year-old goalkeeper.
Mignolet is also good enough to be Barcelona’s goalkeeper. Besides experienced for 21 years playing for Belgium national team and also Liverpool in Europe, Mignolet also has a reliable quality. He is worth £10-15 million.
