Barcelona’s Internal Problems Can be a Weak Point That Can Be Utilized by Napoli
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Napoli will play away to Barcelona in the second round of the last 16 of the Champions League on 9 August. Barca’s internal problems are considered to be a gap for Napoli to win.
The aggregate goals of the two teams were equal 1-1 and Barca bagged the advantage of the away goal aggressiveness. But in the current situation plus without spectators at Camp Nou due to the corona virus pandemic, Napoli has a strong chance of surprising Barcelona.
Especially the Gennaro Gattuso’s team are showing an increase in performance since football rolled back after the corona virus pandemic pause. Conversely Barcelona made by Quique Setien decreased performance.
Barcelona have drawn three and lost once after playing back the league after the break. Their performances are inconsistent, still adapting to Setien’s football philosophy, and having to bite their fingers to see Real Madrid win La Liga.
Barca superstar Lionel Messi was frustrated and pessimistic about beating Napoli if he played like he lost 1-2 to Osasuna. The same concerns are also expressed by the former Barca striker, Rivaldo.
“There is a real danger that they might lose to Napoli. As a former player and fan of the club, I am worried about the match and I also feel it from many fans as well,” Rivaldo said.
“With their feelings of pain, inside an empty stadium against a strong Italian team, I think it will be complicated later.”
When Barcelona is in declining confidence, Napoli just can not wait to play the Champions League. Napoli legend who became the club’s all-time top score, Dries Mertens is optimistic his team can get rid of the Blaugrana.
“The only negative thing from the first match was conceding a goal. We know we are in a difficult time against Barcelona, but if we prepare well, anything can happen,” added Mertens.
“At home they play very good football and it will be difficult, we know that, but we are confident in our own abilities. The key is to score goals because if we don’t, we are eliminated. If our ideas are right then anything is possible.”
