Barcelona’s Transfer Issue Isn’t Complete Yet
By news-admin
DBasia.news – FC Barcelona hasn’t finished the transfer issue in this summer transfer market. After the arrivals of Arthur Melo, Clement Lenglet, and upsetting Roma by Malcom’s recruitment, Barca are still looking for a player as the midfielder.
Barcelona hasn’t found the successor in equal quality and experience as Andres Iniesta and Paulinho. Arthur is a midfielder, but it will be too soon to depend on him considering this is his first season playing in Europe. Arthur needs time to adapt.
If the situation changes, Barcelona will face the 2018/2019 season, at least until the winter transfer market, with Ivan Rakitic, Sergio Busquets, and Arthur as the center midfielders. Andre Gomes might be sold due to his intention to leave Barca. So, Barcelona’s transfer issue is not over yet.
“We’re open to any possibility and it’s clear that in the center of the pitch we’ve lost important players in Andres and Paulinho. We have this in our head. It’s likely we will make more signings,” Valverde said reported by Goal.
“We’ll try to make the squad as competitive as possible,” the former Athletic Bilbao coach continued.
Asked about the player criteria that he wants, Valverde said he wants a midfielder that can do the transition from defending to attacking.
“We have various options that don’t just depend on me but also the club and the chances of making their signings. What is important is the style,” Valverde added.
“We want people that move well in the interior positions and can arrive in the box at the right time,” he continued.
In other words, Valverde wants the player with playing style like Paulinho, playing box to box. From Barca’s target rumored by media recently, Thiago Alcantara and Adrien Rabiot have it.
