Bayer Leverkusen Can Only Hope For Havertz to not leave
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Bayer Leverkusen admitted that they can only hope that Kai Havertz would not leave. The young midfielder is being targeted by many of Europe’s top clubs.
Havertz joined Leverkusen academy at the age of 11. He then improved step by step until his debut in the 2016/2017 season, precisely in October.
Since then, the Aachen born player has been the team’s mainstay. Last season Havertz scored 20 goals and seven assists in 42 games, while this season he has made 15 goals and eight assists from 38 appearances.
His performance in the last two seasons made his name enter the top clubs’ player shopping list. Chelsea, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid are putting their eyes on him.
Havertz’s contract remains until 2022, but Leverkusen will be worried about the temptation for Havertz to strengthen big clubs. The Leverkusen Sport Director still hopes that the 20-year-old player will stayb and improve his skills further.
“We have not given up hope that he will stay with us. We try to give him every possibility that he can bring out the quality,” said Voller.
“He worked wonderfully in the second half of the season,” he told ARD as quoted by Metro.
