Bayern Munchen Need Competitive Rivalry in Bundesliga

By news-admin

DBasia.news – Bayern Munchen achieved the Bundesliga titles in six consecutive times. In contrary with their achievement in Germany, in Champions League Bayern just got it five years ago in 2013. Since then, Bayern couldn’t get it.

One of the reasons behind the difficulty is the Bundesliga’s uncompetitive rivalry so Bayern weren’t in the expected level in Europe. Remember, Bayern’s opponent in the final round of 2012-2013 Champions League were also come from Germany, Borussia Dortmund. So, they were ‘lucky’ to win it in 2013.

This season, Bayern are still the favorite in Bundesliga, though they didn’t spend much in the transfer market and under the new coach, Niko Kovac. The Bayern legend Philipp Lahm expected this season Bayern won’t get the easy opponent in Bundesliga and got tight rivalries from the clubs like Dortmund, Schalke, and Bayer Leverkusen.

“Bayern are No. 1 favorites and they will win it again, but a bit of suspense would do the Bundesliga some good with a few sides able to compete for the whole season. I hope that Borussia Dortmund will get back to their former levels,” Lahm expected, reported by ESPN.

“Schalke have good players and you can see coach [Domenico] Tedesco’s signature. They’ll be up there, but with the Champions League, it’s going to be difficult for them to come second again, while I also like the look of Hoffenheim,” he continued.
