Bayern Munich’s tactics for Arsenal to lose Serge Gnabry
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Arsene Wenger said that Bayern Munich had tried to bring in Serge Gnabry when he was playing for Arsenal. According to Wenger, Bayern has managed to manipulate Gnabry to not sign a contract with the Gunners.
The name of Gnabry, 24 years old, has become a byword in Europe thanks to his four goals scored against Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League and brought Bayern won 7-2. Social media discussed it deeper because Gnabry, a former Arsenal player, rivals of Tottenham.
But several other people judge Arsenal are also ‘stupid’ to release Gnabry which is now a mainstay of Niko Kovac at Bayern. As is known, Gnabry, a former Arsenal player from mid-2011-2016, was a season on loan at West Bromwich Albion.
His departure occurred when Arsenal coached Wenger. Gnabry left for Bremen because he rarely played in the Arsenal first team. Wenger also has his theory which is the reason why Gnabry went to Germany in 2016.
“We tried to extend his contract a long time ago and I think Bayern manipulated him behind the scenes, if he (Gnabry) goes to Bremen then he will join Bayern afterward,” Wenger told beIN Sports.
“He has always been a very talented player who lacks confidence at several stages, but we always think we have players who can achieve a lot of things.”
“He returned from a very bad experience (on loan) at West Brom when his confidence broke. I tried to strengthen him again because I had confidence in him,” explained the 69-year-old coach.
Regarding the defeat of Tottenham, Wenger considered that night to be the best night of Bayern and a bad night for Tottenham Hotspur.
“They (Bayern) just won 3-0 at Paderborn, you wouldn’t expect them to come and score seven away goals at Tottenham,” added Wenger.
“I think it was one of the nights when everything went well for you and everything went against Tottenham,” he concluded.
