Becomes Victory Hero for Barcelona, Ivan Rakitic Confesses Upset
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic managed to become a hero for his club by scoring the only goal for the victory when entertaining Athletic Bilbao in the continued LaLiga competition 2019-2020 season at Camp Nou, Wednesday (6/24). However, Rakitic admitted he was upset with this.
Barcelona appeared under pressure in the match. El Barca must win to keep the chance to win the title.
The fact makes Lionel Messi and his friends had difficulty dismantling the Bilbao’s tight defense. Luckily Rakitic was finally able to break the deadlock in the 71st minute to close the match with a 1-0 victory.
The feeling of annoyance referred to by Rakitic actually had nothing to do with the outcome of the match. He further highlighted that his goal against Bilbao is the first throughout this season.
“It is very strange that it took me a long time to score a goal. I am upset with myself, although I am happy to have helped the team,” Rakitic said after the match was reported by Marca.
As an attacking midfielder, one of Rakitic’s tasks is to score goals. Naturally, if he felt angry he could only do that when the competition entered the final phase.
In fact, if you look at his track record, Rakitic scored at least four goals in one season since leaving to Barcelona in 2014. His best record occurred in the 2015-2016 season with a collection of nine goals.
“We struggled a lot in the match because it was not easy. But I am very happy to score my first goal of the season,” he added.
“I want to dedicate this goal to my wife and daughters who have been patient for the past few months.”
Rakitic is indeed going through difficult times with Barcelona. His concentration was broken by the polemic about the extension of his contract which was never completed.
Rakitic was also disappointed with Barcelona’s management, who planned to include his name in an offer to get a number of star players. Croatia’s player relationship with Barcelona is predicted to end this summer.
