DBasia.news –  Chelsea young player Billy Gilmour stole attention in the 2-0 win over Liverpool in the FA Cup. One of the moments that became spotlight was when Gilmour humiliated Fabinho with his skills.

Chelsea hosted Liverpool at the Stamford Bridge in the last 16 on Wednesday (3/4/2020). Gilmour played for 90 minutes, his second full appearance with Chelsea first team this season.

During the game, the 18 years old midfielder made two tackles, won all the air duels, created an opportunity, and one intercept. Gilmour drew a big spotlight with his action in the final minutes of the match.

Gilmour was controlling the ball, dealing with Fabinho. Cleverly, Gilmour outwitted the Liverpool midfielder by controlling the ball that passed through the sidelines of his opponent’s leg to send the pass to Olivier Giroud even though the finishing was still off the mark.

Gilmour’s action reaped many positive comments on the internet. The former Chelsea top player Cesc Fabregas also made his positive comment for Gilmour.

“Fantastic. Personality on the ball, smart on making decisions, always create an angle to make it easy for yourself, and have the aggression that is very important in the Premiere League,” the Spanish player tweeted.

“When you have quality as well as passion, work ethic and ingenuity, then you can see the real potential in a young player. He has it all.”

Gilmour’s stunning performance was rewarded with man of the match award. Chelsea manager Frank Lampard claimed to fully believe in the ex Blues junior team abilities.

“I fully believe in him. If he is small, but he has a great personality and talent,” Lampard said.
