DBasia.news –  Leicester City coach, Brendan Rodgers, praised the mentality shown by his players when they defeated West Ham United 2-1 in their 20th match.

The results achieved by The Foxes brought them back to their winning ways after in the previous two matches against Manchester City and Liverpool, were made helpless.

“This victory was really encouraging. We have returned to victory after the last few matches being difficult for us,” Rodgers said.

Rogers overhauled the main squad against West Ham. Noted, nine players who were not previously included in the Starting Eleven against Liverpool, started the match from the first minute.

Jamie Vardy, Caglar Soyuncu, and Ricardo Pereira who usually always fill the main squad did not appear. Even so, Kelechi Iheanacho and Demarai Gray was able to replace the role to bring the Foxes to win the game.

Being superior first through the action of Kelechi Iheanacho in the 40th minute, West Ham immediately responded through Pablo Fornals before the first half ended.

In the second half, Leicester did not relax the attack and managed to get back ahead in the 57th minute for a goal posted by Demarai Gray. This victory broke the negative trend of The Foxes who suffered two consecutive defeats.

“I told the players beforehand that in this sport, when football is at the highest level, you must reach your maximum ability. They showed that mentality,” he said.

“I am thrilled, they received an extraordinary achievement. Today’s match was actually quite challenging for them, especially after (the defeat of) the last match. But they were quickly able to control, they came here (West Ham) and played well, ” he added.
