Bringing Juventus to the Italian League Champion, Maurizio Sarri was dismissed when the Old Lady failed in the Champions League

DBasia.news – Maurizio Sarri is now no longer Juventus’ coach. Italian giants, Juventus officially dismissed the Allenatore on Saturday (8/8/2020) evening. The dismissal occurred after Juventus failed to qualify for the Champions League quarter-finals.

“Juventus Football Club announced that Maurizio Sarri has been released from his position as coach of the first team,” wrote a club statement on its official website.

“The club would like to thank the coach who has written a new chapter in Juventus history by winning the title for the ninth year in a row, the culmination of a personal journey that has taken him to all divisions of Italian football.”

Sarri’s position is indeed unsafe despite his success in becoming Serie A champions. Speculation regarding the dismissal of the former Chelsea manager has always appeared.

The stopping of Juventus’ steps in the top 16 of the Champions League after being eliminated by Olympique Lyon on Saturday (8/8) AM, was the last blow for the Bianconerri who consistently performed below expectations.

Juventus’ performance under Sarri is considered to be less convincing and is only one point ahead of second place in the Inter Milan standings. He also failed to present entertaining attacking football.

In the 2019-2020 season Juventus have collected a total of 83 points in Serie A, collecting the fewest points throughout the nine consecutive seasons in which they were very dominant. Juve even conceded 43 goals in 38 matches.

The Bianconerri also only collected 76 goals, fewer goals than Atalanta, Inter Milan, Lazio, even the fifth-ranked team, AS Roma.

The defeat in the Italian Super Cup and the Italian Cup final has provided early indications, but the elimination of seventh-placed Ligue 1 from the Champions League is unacceptable.

A number of sources in Italy said there were three candidates for the new Juventus coach. Sky Sport Italia indicated Mauricio Pochettino was being approached by the Italian club, as Pochettino is currently unemployed.

Other candidates are Simone Inzaghi and former Juve player, Zinedine Zidane. Inzaghi can be said to have difficulty to leave Lazio after the capital club has confirmed competing in the Champions League next season.

Meanwhile, Zidane has just brought Real Madrid to win LaLiga and is in a harmonious relationship with the giant club.
