Chelsea Defender Might Join Arsenal Instead of Italy

By news-admin

Gary Cahill

DBasia.news – The future of Gary Cahill in Chelsea is getting uncertain. The 33-year-old center-back might leave on January 2019 during the winter transfer market due to the minimum participation this season.

The status as Chelsea captain doesn’t necessarily guarantee that he would play regularly. Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri prefers the duet of Antonio Rudger and David Luiz to guard the defensive line within a 4-3-3 scheme.

Not only Cahill, but Andreas Christensen is also seldom playing despite the status as former Antonio Conte’s key player. Cahill’s situation is being observed by two Italian clubs: AC Milan and AS Roma.

Both clubs need an additional defender. However, Roma and Milan must move quickly to approach the former defender of Aston Villa and Bolton Wanderers.

Apparently, as Calciomercato reported, Arsenal are ready to compete Milan and Roma to get Cahill. The Gunners also need the additional center-back after the injuries of Mavropanos and Rob Holding. Meanwhile, Laurent Koscielny hasn’t fully recovered.

Unai Emery can’t rely on Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Shkodran Mustafi amid the tight schedule this season. They might be exhausted and injured. Cahill might be the long-term solution for Arsenal.
