DBasia.news – The top three Premier League clubs: Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United, successfully qualified for round four of the 2019-20 League Cup.
Starting from Chelsea who hosted Grimsby Town, League Two team (fourth division of English football) at Stamford Bridge. The Blues partied with seven goals and satisfied the home fans through goals by Ross Barkley (4 ‘), Michy Batshuayi (7’ and 86 ‘), Pedro (penalty 43 minutes’), Kurt Zouma (56 ‘), Reece James (82’) , and Callum Hudson-Odoi (89 ‘).
The Chelsea goalkeeper, who is guarded by Willy Caballero, conceded only one goal from Matt Green’s goal in the 19th minute. This 7-1 win was a consolation and cover for Chelsea’s wounds after losing 1-2 to Liverpool in Week six of the Premier League.
Turning to Old Trafford, Manchester United, unexpectedly, were made distressed by the League One team (third division of English football), Rochdale, to have to determine the match through the white spot. The match at Old Trafford ended in a 1-1 draw in normal time.
Mason Greenwood put United ahead in the 68th minute after completing an assist from Jesse Lingard, then equalized by the 16-year-old player, Luke Matheson, in the 76th minute. According to new regulations, the match went straight to the shootout when the match in normal time ended in a draw.
United penalty executors: Juan Mata, Andreas Pereira, Fred, Greenwood, James, did a great job. While from Rochdale, Jimmy Keohane failed to score a goal. Manchester United advanced to round four of the League Cup.
The only surprise that happened, after Tottenham Hotspur was eliminated by Colchester Town, it was West Ham United who were beaten 4-0 by Oxford United at the Kassam Stadium. Four Oxford goals were scored by Elliott Moore (55 ‘), Matt Taylor (71’), Tariqe Fosu (84 ‘), and Shandon Baptiste (90 + 2’).
