Clement Lenglet
DBasia.news – Clement Lenglet is the name that once became a hot commodity in the transfer market as the interests from Barcelona, Manchester United, and Chelsea.
After the complicated negotiation, Lenglet finally went to the Camp Nou with around 36 million euro transfer fee with a five-season contract until 2023.
But Lenglet revealed an appealing fact. Before he decided to accept Barcelona’s offer, the French player also refused the offer from Serie A giant, Juventus.
“I was at Nancy and I’d only been playing in the second division for three months when Juventus contacted me,” Lenglet revealed cited by Sport English.
“However, despite receiving an offer, the French defender turned it down. “It wasn’t a good moment for me to leave. With the defense Juventus had, I wouldn’t have developed or played at all,” the 23-year-old player added.
Now, with Barcelona, the former Sevilla player starts to prove his quality, replacing Samuel Umtiti and duet with Gerard Pique in the defensive line. Lenglet is doing his job well.
Furthermore, Ernesto Valverde squad are leading LaLiga temporary standing and become the first team securing the place in Champions League round of 16.
