Comments Carlo Ancelotti Post Defeated at Merseyside Derby

DBasia.news – Everton failed to advance to round four of the FA Cup after losing to Liverpool on the Merseyside Derby. Everton’s manager Carlo Ancelotti gave his comments.
Playing at Anfield on Sunday (05/01) night WIB, Everton lost 0-1 to Curtis Jones ‘single goal in the second half (71’). The defeat put the spotlight on Everton because Liverpool fielded their ‘second-tier team’.
Jones, Harvey Elliott, Pedro Chirivella, Neco Williams, were several young Liverpool men from Jurgen Klopp. Plus new recruits from RB Salzburg, Takumi Minamino.
Even so, Everton, who fielded their mainstay players, still lost. Bad record of never winning at Anfield continues since the last win in 1999. Ancelotti thinks his team is inconsistent playing in the first and second round.
“I will talk to every player and tell them that it was not good enough. To be honest, in the second half we were not good enough,” Ancelotti said.
“I have not talked to them, but I will talk to them and tell them that (not good enough), yes I will tell them.”
The former AC Milan and Real Madrid coach also disagreed if Everton were considered to have lost the mentality of Liverpool.
“That wasn’t because of psychology. That didn’t affect our idea of a good game,” Ancelotti added.
“The defeat happened because we didn’t keep the intensity high in the second round, we lost confidence, we couldn’t keep the idea of playing the same as in the first round.”
“I have told all the players in the first half to continue to look after it, but they have lost confidence and intensity,” he continued.
The positive side of Ancelotti can now begin to instill the philosophy of football in training sessions. Everton needed technical training and understanding of tactics to better understand Ancelotti, who had just come from Napoli.
“Now we have time all week preparing for the next game. Since I came here we only played games without training. So it will be important to improve quality and be more confident,” explained Ancelotti.
