Ancelotti is worried Real Madrid continues to struggle to score goals

DBasia.news – Real Madrid coach, Carlo Ancelotti, opened up after his team was defeated by Villarreal 0-0. Ancelotti highlighted the issues up front is difficulty in scoring in recent games.

Appearing at El Madrigal, Madrid still controlled the game. Los Blancos fired 17 shots throughout the match. Some of them were mature opportunities where they have faced the goalkeeper.

Unfortunately, Geronimo Rulli’s slick appearance in goal made it difficult for Madrid to score. Ancelotti did not deny that his team was dragging in scoring goals.

“We were short of goals in the last few games. With a little bit of success and luck, we could have scored. We had three one-on-one chances and hit the bar twice,” Ancelotti said as reported by Marca.

However, Ancelotti has bigger concerns. He highlighted his team’s performance in the first half which did not seem to show any ambition to win.

“I worry about the team not creating chances to score. We need to be more effective, but I was more worried in the first half, when they weren’t very committed.”

In that duel, Vinicius Junior became the target of the Villarreal players. The Brazilian striker was violated several times. However, Ancelotti does not think it is a big problem.

“I’m not worried. He has to understand if it can happen,” said Ancelotti.

“Vinicius has to stay focused in the game. He played a good match. He doesn’t need to waste energy on other things.”

Currently, Real Madrid are still at the top of the La Liga standings. El Real are four points ahead of Sevilla who are in second place.
