DBasia.news – This season, two huge clubs of LaLiga, Barcelona and Real Madrid, are not doing very well.
Madrid were two times played draw and two defeats in the LaLiga. Barca never won in four LaLiga consecutive matches. Their position as the leader of the standing were replaced by Sevilla under Pablo Machin with 16 points.
The big five of LaLiga standing are filled by Sevilla (16 points), Barcelona (15 points), Atletico Madrid (15 points), Madrid (14 points), and Espanyol (14 points). For the neutral fans, the competition is really exciting because Barca and Madrid were too dominant for the past 10 years.
Madrid’s difficulty is reasonable because they were left by Zinedine Zidane and Cristiano Ronaldo, and just started the new journey with Julen Lopetegui. The players and coach are still understanding each other.
But, the difficulty in Barca is rather unique considering it’s the second season for Ernesto Valverde. Last season, they successfully presented the LaLiga and Copa del Rey titles.
The strange thing in Barca also acknowledged by Philippe Coutinho. He thinks it’s weird for Barca to not win in four consecutive matches.
“Going four (league) matches without a win is not normal for this club. A football season is a long time and lots of things can happen,” Coutinho told Sport-English.
“I am not worried because I know this team, we are still in at the top end of the table and we made a strong start in the Champions League,” the Brasilian player continued.
Four consecutive matches with no victory happened against Girona (2-2), Leganes (1-2), Athletic Club Bilbao (1-1), and Valencia (1-1). After the international break, Barca are facing the big match against the standing leader, Sevilla, on Sunday, October 21, 2018.
