Daniele De Rossi: Juventus Appoint Andrea Pirlo
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Former AS Roma star Daniele De Rossi has supported Andrea Pirlo in a successful career as a coach at Juventus.
As is known, Pirlo was appointed to become the new coach of the Old Lady to replace Maurizio Sarri. This decision was a big surprise considering Pirlo had no experience at all coaching a club.
“Pirlo is a phenomenal figure as a player and he will have so much pressure on his first job,” De Rossi told TMW.
“Because Juventus are a demanding team, but if they need someone with strong character, then they find the right person.”
“Over the years, I have seen coaches who I thought would not do anything, and they achieve extraordinary results, and vice versa.”
“For example, I never thought Simone Inzaghi or Rino Gattuso would be such good coaches.”
Pirlo was initially appointed as Juventus U-23’s new coach on July 30, marking his first coaching role since hanging up his boots in 2017.
However, the young Italian tactician spent only nine days in that role, having been promoted to the senior team to replace the sacked Maurizio Sarri.
Pirlo played for Juventus between 2011 and 2015, winning four Serie A Scudettos, while enhancing his reputation as one of the best midfielders of the modern era.
As a player, he has also won the Champions League twice with AC Milan and is now on the task of turning the Bianconeri back into an elite force in Europe after a disappointing 2019/20 campaign.
