Danny Murphy Discusses Jordan Henderson’s Rapid Development
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Since Liverpool was left by Steven Gerrard in 2015, Jordan Henderson has grown rapidly. That was expressed by former Liverpool midfielder, Danny Murphy.
“Only since Gerrard left in 2015, and the team began to evolve under Jurgen Klopp, people can see the quality of Jordan Henderson. “At the age of 29, he has grown to become a complete midfielder, and is a fantastic example of someone who maximizes his abilities,” Murphy said at Soccerway.
Jordan Henderson arrived at Liverpool in 2011 and immediately had difficulties. At that time Gerrard was still playing well, of course Henderson looked small in the shadow of the Reds’ legends.
These conditions certainly has certainly made Henderson depressed, difficulty in developing. Even so, he remains trusted to be the captain of the Reds after Gerrard moved to MLS. Gerrard’s departure has made Henderson more developed. He is now one of Liverpool’s best players.
“It’s not always easy for Jordan Henderson at Anfield, and I think he suffered at first as he was compared to Gerrard, and it was unfair. “It’s an easy thing to say when he entered at the age of 20 in 2011, as he is a young English midfielder, but he is not like Gerrard,” Murphy said at Soccerway.
“It will always be impossible for him to live according to that. “As a player he is the best he can be, but he will never be able to do the things Gerrard does,” Murphy added.
This season Jordan Henderson has defended Liverpool in 28 matches in all competitions. He also contributed one goal and two assists.
