David Luiz Feels Natural If He Is Blamed for Losing to Man City

By db-admin

DBasia.news – David Luiz felt no wonder if he was blamed when Arsenal have to be defeated a 0-3 at the Manchester City headquarters.

Luiz, who came in as a substitute in the 24th minute in the match at Etihad Stadium on Thursday (6/18/2020), was the cause of City’s first two goals.

His blunder in the first half injury time made the ball to be controlled by Raheem Sterling who then made a goal. In the second half the foul he did against Riyad Mahrez not only made Luiz red carded but also gave penalty for City – which was successfully executed by Kevin De Bruyne.

After the match, David Luiz said that the defeat of the match was his responsibility. The Brazilian then also talked about his contract which will expire at the end of the month.

“It was my fault. The team played well, especially when playing with 10 people. Extraordinary coaches, all extraordinary players, it was just my fault,” he said as quoted by the BBC. “I want to be here. The coach knows that. He wants me to stay.”

Uncertainty about his future at Arsenal put David Luiz on the bench early in the match against Manchester City. The player who just joined The Gunners last summer was called to play when Pablo Mari was injured.

“I should have made a different decision in the last two months, but I didn’t do it. Regarding my contract, whether I will stay or not here. I have 14 days here and that’s all. I should have made a decision as soon as possible, but didn’t do it.”

“I do not want to make alibi or reasons, it is my fault. Just like that. I’m happy here. That’s why I keep training hard,” he said.
