Stade Rennes is Interested in Recruiting David Luiz

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Stade Rennes is interested in bringing an experienced defender, David Luiz, who is now defending Arsenal. The opportunity to move is quite open.

The Brazilian football player as it is known since joining Arsenal, his appearance has often been in the spotlight. The reason is, he often made blunders at the back and one of them was against Manchester City in the 2019/2020 Premier League competition.

In a match that took place at the Etihad Stadium, David Luiz at that time came off the bench to replace Pablo Mari who suffered a hamstring injury.

He also made two mistakes in which the first he failed to cut Kevin de Bruyne’s pass so Raheem Sterling received the ball easily and scored a goal.

While the second he pulled Riyad Mahrez’s shirt in the forbidden box and the referee immediately awarded a penalty and the former Chelsea player received a red card. In the match itself, Manchester City won convincingly 3-0 over Arsenal.

Even though he often made mistakes in the defensive area, David Luiz is still in demand by a number of clubs and one of them is Rennes.

According to the RMC report, the French club is interested in landing him this summer.

Rennes’s high interest arguably made sense. The reason is, the Ligue 1 contestants will play in the Champions League next season.

David Luiz himself is reportedly considered suitable to strengthen their back line. Moreover, the defender had previously played in France with PSG so that if he officially joins there will be no difficulties.

The report also stated that the North London camp had reportedly given the green light to release the player. As is well known, Mikel Arteta is in desperate need of a new center-back and Gabriel Magalhaes, who now plays for Lille, will soon be arriving at the Emirates Stadium.

With Arsenal this season, David Luiz has played in 43 matches in all competitions scoring 2 goals. 33 of which he appeared in the Premier League.
