De Bruyne Will Be Absent Against Manchester United and Arsenal
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Manchester City attacking midfielder Kevin de Bruyne is reported having a back injury. De Bruyne has the potential to miss the Manchester derby against Manchester United on Sunday (08/03). It seems to be a big deal for Manchester City
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola explained the cause of de Bruyne’s injury due to a misplaced position when he fell, he also could not be sure when the 28 years old player could return to the pitch.
“He (De Bruyne) fell in a bad position and had a problem with his back,” Guardiola said.
“We don’t know how long he will pull over, hopefully not too long,” he hoped.
De Bruyne’s absence will certainly have a big impact for Manchester City because the former Chelsea player is considered as key to his team’s midfield play. De Bruyne has scored eight goals and provided 17 assists in 26 Premier League matches this season.
Guardiola seems to have to find solution immediately, as The Sky Blues will meet Manchester United and Arsenal next week.
Guardiola claimed to have prepared his team to undergo a match without De Bruyne. Even so, it is undeniable that the absence of De Bruyne raises concerns for the Spanish manager.
“The players are ready. Of course we are a little worried because we can still fix a few things. We did not concede and that means a lot to us,” he concluded.
Manchester City advanced to the last eight of the 2019-20 FA Cup after a 1-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday through a single goal by Sergio Aguero in the 53rd minute.
