DBasia.news – Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) made a dramatic comeback when they beat Atalanta with a score of 2-1 in the 2019-2020 Champions League quarter-finals at Estadio da Luz, Thursday (13/8) AM. Being left behind first, Les Parisiens managed to turn things around by scoring two quick goals at the end of the match.

As predicted, Atalanta’s match against PSG was fierce and interesting. Attack after attack were presented since the beginning of the match.

In the third minute, Atalanta received a golden opportunity through Papu Gomez’s hard kick. But PSG goalkeeper, Keylor Navas was still swift to secure it.

Not long after, it was PSG’s turn to have a golden opportunity when Neymar was left to face one on one with Atalanta goalkeeper, Marco Sportiello. Unfortunately, the Brazilian star’s shot went wide from the right side of the goal.

Eight minutes passed, Atalanta had another golden opportunity. Papu Gomez’s mature bait met Hans Hateboer’s head, but his header was pushed over by Navas.

Atalanta was finally able to break the deadlock when the game entered the 27th minute. Mario Pasalic curled shot from inside the penalty box this time failed to reach Navas.

PSG tried to retaliate two minutes later when Neymar showed an individual action which ended with a hard shot at Atalanta’s goal. However, the ball was narrowly wide on the side of the goal.

PSG continued to pound Atalanta’s defense for the remainder of the first half. However, the 1-0 score for Atalanta’s superiority did not change until halftime.

After the break, PSG tried to take the initiative to attack. However, they almost conceded their goal again in the 58th minute if Djimsiti’s hard strike was more accurate.

PSG then entered Kylian Mbappe and Julian Draxler to increase their power. Meanwhile Atalanta pulled out Papu Gomez.

These changes slowly made PSG control the game. Atalanta was more focused on defending.

However, PSG’s repeated attacks failed because of Atalanta’s tight defense. Neymar and his colleagues began to show frustration.

PSG’s efforts finally paid off in the 90th minute. Neymar’s mature bait was able to be continued by Marquinhos even though his shot hit the Atalanta defender before entering the goal.

This goal seemed to have destroyed the mentality of the Atalanta players. Moreover, the front players have been pulled out.

Practically in a period of added time, PSG were increasingly launching attacks. Meanwhile, the Atalanta players were confused and focused on throwing the ball from their defense.

PSG’s comeback finally became perfect after Erix Maxim Choupo-Moting broke into Atalanta’s goal when the game entered the third minute of injury time. The process is similar to the first goal only now it was Mbappe who provides the pass.

The 2-1 score for PSG’s victory then lasted until the game was over. Thomas Tuhcel’s team qualified for the semifinals and will challenge the winners of the RB Leipzig match against Atletico Madrid.
