Deschamps: France Needs Giroud more than Lacazette

DBasia.news – French national team coach Didier Deschamps acknowledged Alexandre Lacazette a good player. But this time he needed a player like Oliver Giroud.
“I don’t think Lacazette and Wissam Ben Yedder will be happy to hear they haven’t called to the national team,” Deschamps said.
“They did a lot of things very well, but I had to make a choice. They are both closer in style to each other than Giroud. Giroud is less used in the Premier League, but what he does for us is very important.”
France released a list of players who will be called to face Moldova and Iceland in 2020 European Cup qualifiers. In the roster, there was no name Lacazette and Ben Yedder.
Lacazette was quite sharp this season by scoring 14 goals for Arsenal in all competitions. While Ben Yedder collected 26 goals with Sevilla.
“Lacazette and Ben Yedder actually deserve to be called. “They just need to continue to do what they do,” Deschamps said.
