Despite being Injured, Liverpool Ready to Offer Contract Extension for Van Dijk and Fabinho
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Liverpool are reportedly planning to negotiate a contract extension with Virgil van Dijk and Fabinho in March 2020. The two players arrived at Anfield in 2018, where Van Dijk is currently the world’s most expensive defender, when he was bought for £75 million. Meanwhile, Fabinho was brought in with a dowry of 39 poundsterling from AS Monaco.
Quoted from the Daily Star, Friday (13/11), the two players’ contracts have two and a half years left. So the Reds are trying to negotiate a contract extension in March 2021.
This was revealed by journalist Fabrizio Romano. Romano claims Liverpool officials plan to speak with Van Dijk and his agent as soon as possible, after recovering from an ACL injury. The Dutchman must struggle to return to play this season, after suffering a severe injury last month against Everton.
Van Dijk has an important role in defense in scoring the Champions League and Premiere League trophies for Liverpool.
Meanwhile Fabinho also spent time on the sidelines with a hamstring injury, although not as badly as Van Dijk. Fabinho is predicted to recover when Liverpool face Leicester after the international break.
