Diego Simeone Relies on Jose Gimenez in the Match Against Madrid

DBasia.news – Diego Simeone believed Atletico Madrid could rely on the service of defender Jose Gimenez in the derby match with Real Madrid, Saturday (29/9).

The Argentinian coach hopes Gimenez will be in fit condition following the injury on Tuesday (25/9). The Uruguay international player got kicked from the pitch at 39′ in the 3-0 victory of Atletico against Huesca. Gimenez felt the muscle problem.

The result was the third consecutive winnings for Atletico in all competitions. It means, they will leave for Santiago Bernabeu in a good condition after the shaky season.

Losing Gimenez, who performed four times in LaLiga this season, was a great hit for Atletico. However, Simeone optimists about his chance to perform.

“We will see him tomorrow (Wednesday), but we have positive feelings that he will be fine for Saturday’s derby,” Simeone said.

Atletico just won one of their first five matches in all competitions this season. But they are starting to gain confidence by now. Simeone believed that they will come to Bernabeu for the derby of the first league this season to pick up the victory.

“We are growing in the associative game, we press more together,” he said. “Against Eibar, we already showed improvement, then better against Monaco and even better again against Getafe.”

“We arrive (at the derby) with good results. We hope to manage the days left with the right efforts to get there.”
