Due to Corona, President of LaLiga Spain Ensures the 2019-20 Season Has Ended
By db-admin
DBasia.news – President of LaLiga Spain, Javier Tebas, indicated that the top football competition in the matador country for the 2019-2020 season could end due to the corona virus.
Spain is one of the countries most affected by the spread of the corona virus. In fact, the Spanish government is rumored to be taking actions by locking themselves in from the outside world to avoid further spread.
This situation has an impact on the sustainability of LaLiga. Despite being suspended, the number one competition in Spain will be permanently stopped.
“I have been working all weekend through video conferences and telephone calls with European institutions and the Spanish club president. We have a very important week ahead,” Tebas told Cadena Cope.
“What we are facing now will end the competition. This will be an important decision in Europe,” continued the president.
“I have established contacts with Italy and Germany to try to adjust the schedule. However, this is a serious health problem.”
“With 25 percent of the season that has passed, we must review the entire budget if the season ends now,” Javier Tebas added.
Currently, Barcelona are at the top of the standings after winning 58 points. In second place, there is Real Madrid who are only two points adrift.
Many predict Barcelona will be named 2019-2020 LaLiga champions based on the current standings. However, this is not easily realized.
The acquisition of a tight point between Barcelona and Real Madrid could bring new problems. There will be controversy if LaLiga sets El Barca as champions.
In addition, there are other options that are
more likely to hold a title race that involves the top four teams in neutral
places. That means, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Sevilla and Real Sociedad will go
head to head to be the best.
