During parting with Barcelona, Arthur had a car accident
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Barcelona star, Arthur Melo received a ticket for drunk driving and crashed his Ferarri in Palafrugell, a coastal city in Catalonia.
Arthur was found by police at 4am local time, Monday (17/8) after driving his car up a sidewalk on one of the main roads in the city of Palafrugell, which is about 130km north of Barcelona.
The results of the examination revealed that the Brazilian had 0.55 milligrams of alcohol in his blood, exceeding the legal limit in Spain of 0.5.
It was fortunate that no other car was involved in the accident and no one was injured, although there was some minor damage to Arthur’s Ferrari.
The 24-year-old midfielder was ticketed at the scene but was later allowed to leave, with one of the passengers in his car given permission to drive.
According to the ESPN report, Arthur is likely to be asked to appear at trial in the next few days, running the risk of large fines and having his driver’s license revoked.
Arthur will also be subject to disciplinary action by Barcelona after returning to Brazil and not returning to report for last month’s training session.
This gesture is done as he has no future at the Camp Nou and will join Juventus in the 2020/21 season after the two clubs reach a transfer agreement worth 82 million euros.
Even though he is still a Barcelona player, Arthur was disappointed with the club after the transfer announcement as he really wanted to stay. Because of this, he has been reluctant to take part in the remainder of the club’s Champions League campaign this season.
Barcelona president, Josep Maria Bartomeu later stated that he would sanction Arthur for not showing respect for the club.
Arthur finally returned to Barcelona in early August, but was not part of the squad that traveled to Lisbon for their Champions League quarter-final in Lisbon, Portugal, where they lost 8-2 to Bayern Munich.
