Dybala-Martinez, Argentina Front Line Duet Facing Germany
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni believes Lautaro Martinez and Paulo Dybala were the keys to the Argentina national team’s victory when facing a friendly match with Germany at Signal Iduna Park, Dortmund on Thursday.
“They are the players who should be able to raise the highest flag, hopefully, tomorrow they will play together and return to a great match,” Scaloni said as reported by mundoalbiceleste.
Both Dybala, who defended Juventus and Martinez, who strengthened Inter Milan, scored when the two clubs competed at the weekend at the Derby d’Italia. Other Argentine, Gonzalo Higuain was the winner in Juve’s decider.
Dybala, who will turn 26 next month, has recently not been a major player for Albiceleste. He has just scored two goals in 25 matches for his country.
While Martinez, who is still 22 years old, has a better record when defending the national team. He has scored nine goals in 13 matches for the senior Argentine national team.
Argentina certainly will not be strengthened by a number of its stars. Paris St Germain midfielder Angel di Maria and Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero are not in the team, while captain Lionel Messi is still on suspension.
Scaloni will also not be able to play River Plate and Boca Juniors players who still participate in the Libertadores Cup semifinals.
In the stronghold of Argentina, coach Joachim Loew will give a chance to play several new faces due to the absence of several senior players.
Jonathan Tah and Ilkay Gundogan certainly did not appear in the match, while Tony Kroos, Leroy Sane, Antonio Ruediger, Timo Werner, Leon Goretzka, and Matthias Ginter could not necessarily be played.
As a result, several positions will be filled by players with minimal experience in the national team. Hertha Berlin defender Niklas Stark, as well as Freiburg striker Luca Waldschmidt, will get a chance to graze.
Two players who have never defended the national team also have the opportunity to taste the opportunity to play, namely Leverkusen midfielder Nadiem Amiri and Schalke 04 midfielder Suat Serdar.
