DBasia.news – There is potential for the El Clasico match which had taken place at the Camp Nou to change at the Santiago Bernabeu due to demonstrations in Catalunya. Reportedly, LaLiga has sent the proposal.
Initially, the Barcelona vs Real Madrid match will be held at Camp Nou on 26 October. However, the potential for riots due to demonstrations in Catalonia led LaLiga to move the match to the Santiago Bernabeu.
“We have sent a request to the Spanish Football Association (RFEF) to hold a meeting and move the location of the El Clasico match to the Santiago Bernabeu. We do this because there are several situations that we cannot control,” writes the official LaLiga statement.
This big demonstration in Catalonia is not the first. A few years ago, a similar demonstration also took place in the city of Barcelona and its surroundings. At that time, the demonstration occurred after the Spanish government rejected the results of a referendum conducted by the Catalonian community.
In this demonstration, Barcelona has opened their voices. Azulgrana party regretted that many demonstrators were detained by the police related to the rampant demonstrations.
For Azulgrana, the demonstration this time will not have too bad an impact. Because they will undergo two consecutive away games against Eibar and Slavia Prague before holding a home party against Real Madrid at the end of October.
