Ernesto Valverde is not afraid of being fired by Barcelona

DBasia.news –  Feeling supported by Barcelona officials, Ernesto Valverde is not afraid to be fired despite being highlighted at the moment.

Barcelona lost 1-3 to Levante in La Liga and played a goalless draw against Slavia Prague in the Champions League. Valverde considered the public failed to maximize the quality of individuals in his squad.

But Valverde is not worried. Former Athletic Bilbao coach claimed to get support from club officials to continue their work.

“The other day I was with the President (Josep Maria Bartomeu). The club always supports me and respects me, that’s how I feel, I don’t have any problems with it,” Valverde said, quoted by Sport-English. 

Regarding the criticism that came from the public, Valverde only resigned to responding because the situation was indeed like that – what had happened had indeed happened.

“(I don’t know) understand it or not, this is how it is. I don’t have much to say about it. If we score (against Slavic), then the situation can be calmer. You have to accept things as they are,” Valverde added.

“A week ago we were in a good momentum, we won seven games in a row. Now we did not win in two matches and that led to instability around the club. It was good for our opponents, but we must remain united,” he concluded.
