Everton Got Barcelona Defender Last Minute of Transfer Window

DBasia.news – The transfer market for Premier League clubs was officially closed on August 9. The movement of the transfer market was still on until the very last minute.
Everton, Fulham, and Leicester City surprisingly became the star at the end of the transfer market. The three clubs decided to spend much money before the end of the transfer window.
However, in general, the money spent by the Premier League clubs this season was decreasing. For the very first time, the Premier League transfer market decreased since 8 years ago. In total, the spending for this summer transfer market was £1,1 billion.
From 18 clubs, only Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United who didn’t do the transaction on the last day of the transfer market. Tottenham didn’t do any transfer at all in this season.
In the Premier League, the transfer window was changed from August 31 to August 9, one day before the competition begins. This is the decision from the club members. However, the Premier League club can still release the player after the window transfer closed.
One of the surprises on the last day of Premier League transfer happened when Everton successfully got Yerry Mina from Barcelona. Everton signed the Colombian defender with £27M. This was surprising because Mina was predicted to join Man United.
More than that, Everton also got Andre Gomes from Barcelona with loan status. Previously, Everton also succeeded in signing Bernard from Shakhtar Donetsk for free.
Besides Everton, the other clubs who spent high on the last day of the transfer market were Fulham and Leicester. Fulham announced 5 new players in the last day.
Fulham got Andre-Frank Anguissa from Marseille worth £22,3M, Joe Bryan from Bristol City worth £6M), and loaned Sergio Rico, Luciano Vietto, and Timothy Fosu-Mensah.
While Leicester got Turkey defender Caglar Soyuncu from Freiburg worth £19M. Soyuncu followed Filip Benkovic, bought by Leicester from Dinamo Zagreb with a £1,3M price tag.
Besides, there were other movements in the last day of Premier League transfer market. Like Danny Ings loaned to Liverpool from Southampton. While West Ham added the new player stock by signing Lucas Perez from Arsenal and Carlos Sanchez from Fiorentina.
In the last day of summer transfer market, there were 25 players signed. This number was higher than the previous seasons: 17 players (2017), 20 players (2016), and 23 players (2015).
