Ezequiel Garay Positive for Corona Virus

DBasia.news –   Valencia defender, Ezequiel Garay has been tested positive for the corona virus and is the first player from LaLiga to be contracted by Covid-19.

According to news from Marca and confirmed by the player, Ezequiel Garay was found positive for corona virus. It was known after Garay and the Valencia squad conducted tests in undergoing the corona virus quarantine procedure.

After LaLiga was postponed until early April, Valencia – along with other teams – also postponed the training session and the players were advised to isolate themselves at home to avoid the risk of contracting the corona virus.

“Obviously I started 2020 poorly. I have been tested positive for the corona virus. I now feel fine and currently focus on paying attention to the direction of the health authority and is being isolated at this time,” Garay said on Instagram.

Ezequiel Garay, 33, was originally expected to be sidelined this season due to a serious knee injury in early February. Valencia was looking for a central defender to replace him and was unable to find a candidate in the winter transfer market.

Spain became one of the countries in Europe with the most cases of corona virus which has reached 6,000. Potentially Spain will be on lockdown (isolate themselves).

“The steps we take are very drastic … But we need to reduce, maintain and stop the spread of the virus,” stated the Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez.
