Fabio Cannavaro Wants Italy to Learn from China about the Corona Virus

DBasia.news – Concerned about the conditions in Italy, Fabio Cannavaro hopes that Italy will learn a lot from China on how to deal with the corona virus.
Italy became the worst European country with corona virus cases reaching 21,157 cases and 1,441 people have died. While in the country where it all started, Wuhan, China, the conditions have began to improve.
Cannavaro, who handles the Chinese club, Guangzhou Evergrande, also gave an explanation of how China handled the corona virus from personal experience.
“As soon as I arrived I was required to do an inspection, using a swab (cleaned). For me this was the third time and then my body temperature was checked,” Cannavaro told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Then I have to sign a form where I state my position in the past few months and if I have meet with an infected person.”
“At that time, like all people entering countries from countries with a virus, you were quarantined for two weeks. If you have a place to live, you stay there, otherwise they put you in a hotel that is equipped to guarantee isolation.”
In the last two months China immediately closed all access (lockdown) to fight Covid-19. That method worked well.
“This is a positive message for us Italians and for the whole world. This disease can be eradicated, but we need great sacrifice and regulation,” Cannavaro added.
“It’s not easy to face this monstrosity, as there is no precedent. And a sense of togetherness and the basic value of life has won. Paid dearly for sacrifice, the lesson is clear to the world.”
“In Italy we understand the virus better than most other countries, we are on the right path. The majority’s behavior is positive, even if some have struggled to understand.”
“My father, for example, did not understand that he had to change his daily habits, for his sake and for the family’s sake. He wanted to buy cigarettes from a tobacco shop and chat with friends at home. I made him understand that he was at risk of infection and took him home, “explained the 46-year-old player.
Finally, the former Parma, Juventus and Real Madrid player admitted he was worried about the spread of corona in Italy and hoped that Italy could learn a lot from China to overcome it.
“Yes, I’m worried, as we haven’t reached our peak yet and we need to fight and stay focused on everything. I think of the mistakes made in the past week, when thousands of people from Lombardy fled to the south,” explained Cannavaro.
“I don’t want to curse anyone, I understand those who want to return to their loved ones, but that is a big mistake.”
“Now we need to wait another week to understand how many people have been infected and to hold our nerves until the peak of the disease passes. The same mistake occured in China, when the speed of the disease is yet to be understood, the solution is to get people out of Wuhan.
“But we learn from that experience here. But I am proud of the attitude shown by Italy, “concluded Cannavaro.
