Fabio Capello believes Nicolo Zaniolo can win the Ballon d’Or

DBasia.news – AS Roma star, Nicolo Zaniolo has the potential to win the Ballon d’Or. The opinion was expressed by former Giallorossi coach, Fabio Capello.

Zaniolo has developed into one of the most shining young midfielders in Italy after moving to Rome. In fact, he had won the award as the best young player in Serie A.

The 21-year-old midfielder suffered a severe knee ligament injury in January. However, the player showed a brilliant performance after Serie A resumed.

Zaniolo was outstanding in the 3-1 win over Juventus in the last week of Serie A. It was his first starter since recovering from a knee ligament injury.

Capello sees Zaniolo as having the ability to be the best player. Therefore, the player can dream of winning the Ballon d’Or in the future.

“Zaniolo has physical strength and power and exceptional quality,” Capello told Sky Sport Italia.

“He has the potential not only for the [European] Golden Boot, but he can aspire to something more, like the Ballon d’Or.”

Zaniolo created an assist for Roma’s third goal against Juventus that Diego Perotti scored. Capello claimed to have been very impressed with the talents of the former Inter player.

“I’m in love with Zaniolo. He has everything at the highest level, power, quality and speed,” he continued.

“There are many players out there who have a lot of potential, but not like him.”
