VAR Would Be Applied in Thailand

DBasia.news – The VAR would be applied in Thai League 1. The President of FAT, Somyot Poompanmoung confirmed that.

It’s announced during the directors meeting on Wednesday (19/12) morning. Not only the VAR, but the meeting also discussed the FA Thailand Awards and football development. By the support from FIFA Forward budget, FAT would amend the regulations.

“This is the monthly meeting. Our priority is to arrange the new regulation for next year. We would have the VAR system for every Thailand League match.”

“Hence, we need to arrange the new regulation, including the new matters next year,” Somyot said quoted by SMMSport.

For the VAR, FAT would allocate the budget this year. “VAR would help the referee to be modern, fair, and makes the match becomes more colorful.”

“Also, we would speed up the personnel development for the coach, referee, and other related parties.”

“One of the goals is to develop the football talent based on the area,” he added.
