DBasia.news – Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard said he was satisfied with the debut appearance of two new Blues players, Timo Werner and Kai Havertz. Even though they have not scored a goal, the two players managed to give their first victory when they defeated Brighton & Hove Albion 3-1, Tuesday (15/9) am, WIB.
In addition, Lampard also praised Chelsea young defender, Reece James thanks to his neat goal.
“Reece has something in him. He’s a player with that kind of quality. You try and find him in an area where he can be a threat. We have shown determination,” Lampard told Sky Sports.
Haverts, who worked hard on the front behind Werner, who was also reinforced by Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Mason Mount, was withdrawn in the 80th minute, but Lampard gave the ex-Bayer Leverkusen striker a lot of praise.
“I like Kai Havertz. All I can see from him is kicking and his quality will continue to improve. He is very talented,” he added.
Despite talented in attacking, Lampard said Chelsea still has to work to challenge defending champions, Liverpool for the title this season.
“We clearly want to close the gap with Liverpool, we must have the intention to be at the top even though it is still a big question to win this. We are behind, step by step. Hopefully we can make big steps,” concluded Lampard.
