Fred Ready to Have Clean Fight with Donny van de Beek

By db-admin

DBasia.news – The fighter mentality shown by Fred responded to Donny van de Beek’s arrival to Manchester United. The Brazilian midfielder admitted that he was ready to compete in a healthy manner for the core position of the red devils.

Van de Beek was brought in by Manchester United from Ajax Amsterdam for a transfer fee of up to 40 million euros. His presence further adds to the tightness of competition in the midfield of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team.

Before Van de Beek arrived, Manchester United already had a number of quality midfielders. Besides Fred, there are still Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes, Nemanja Matic, Scott McTominay, and Andreas Pereira.

This fact had given rise to rumors that a number of names would be released. One of the most mentioned is Fred.

The 27-year-old player is considered to have a fairly high selling value. His performance was also not very bad last season as he played 48 times in all competitions.

Fred has emphatically denied rumors of his departure from Manchester United. He believes he still has a future at Old Trafford.

Fred also considers tough competition to be a natural thing that happens at big clubs. So he felt that Van de Beek’s arrival would have a positive impact on him individually and in teams.

“I don’t want to go. As I always say, I want to be an important player and win trophies for this club,” Fred told FourFourTwo.

“(Van de Beek’s arrival) means we are getting stronger and that is good for everyone at United. When you play at a big club, there will always be competition and it’s been like that since my first day at United.”

Fred’s determination is certainly a relief to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as manager. The Norwegian national indeed needs the commitment of his foster children to navigate the 2020-2021 season which will begin soon.
