Everton will try to bring in Donny Van De Beek

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Everton failed to borrow Donny van de Beek last summer. The Toffees hinted they would try again in the winter market, next January.

Van de Beek has not had enough playing time at Manchester United since joining in the summer of 2020. In his debut season, the Dutch midfielder played just 36 times in all competitions and started just four times in the Premier League.

Then Everton offered a way out for Van de Beek to borrow from United. However, as the summer market closed, the Red Devils thwarted his move.

Donny van de Beek should have been even more frustrated as his situation has not changed in his second season because he has only been played three times. The former Ajax Amsterdam player had become the topic of conversation for showing his frustration at being canceled when United defeated Villarreal 2-1 in the Champions League last week.

Rumors surrounding Van de Beek’s future has continued to circulate where he is said to be leaving in the winter market. It could be that Everton will succeed in signing Van de Beek.

“He was on our list,” Everton director Marcell Brands told NOS as quoted by Metro. “At the beginning of the transfer window, we asked questions at Manchester United and then the transfer was impossible. At the end of the market, I received a call from Guido Albers, his agent, that he was leaving on loan. But at the last minute it was cancelled again.”

“It always depends on whether the club wants to work together or not. And now it’s still early October, there are still a lot of possibilities that can happen with injuries. Manchester United play in many competitions, for now it’s hard to say.”

“Of course, poor Donny. He’s a great player, no doubt about it. A player who just wants to play and return to the Dutch national team. But you know at a club like Manchester United the pressure is very high and the competition is tight. When you see who is on United’s bench: Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, Paul Pogba,” said Brands regarding the possibility of signing Van de Beek.
