DBasia.news – Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata haven’t performed satisfyingly in Chelsea. Consequently, Chelsea are targeting a new forward during the winter transfer market, including Gonzalo Higuain.
El Pipita once worked together with Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri in Napoli. However, it won’t be easy for The Blues to sign him because Higuain still belongs to Juventus and having his on-loan period to AC Milan.
Juve want a high transfer fee from Higuain, while Milan still want to use his service until this season ends. The transfer possibility of Argentinian forward continues.
However, good news for Chelsea fans about Higuain. Explicitly, Milan coach Gennaro Gattuso confirmed Higuain’s interest to reunite with Sarri in Chelsea.
“We have a very open relationship, we say things to each other’s faces. There is great honesty. When a player makes certain choices, it becomes difficult to convince him otherwise,” Gattuso told Football-Italia.
“At the moment, he is a Milan player and we’re holding on tight. I don’t know what will happen. We are honest with each other and I want him to maintain the same attitude, which has never been lacking,” he continued.
Gattuso said that after bringing Milan qualified for the quarter-final of Coppa Italia by defeating Sampdoria 2-0. Two goals in that match were scored by Patrick Cutrone, who might replace Higuain as Milan bomber.
