Gianluigi Buffon Equalizes Paolo Maldini’s Record

DBasia.news – Juventus goalkeeper, Gianluigi Buffon, equalized the record appearance of AC Milan legend, Paolo Maldini, at club level. Buffon’s record was broken when Juventus went up against Hellas Verona in the continuing Serie A match.
As reported by Goal, Buffon has now made 902 appearances at club level with three different clubs, namely: FC Parma (1995-2001), Juventus (two periods, 2001-2018 and 2019), and PSG (2018/19). While Maldini carved it with Milan throughout his career (1984-2009).
The details, Buffon has played 220 times for Parma, 25 times with PSG, and 657 times with Juventus. The 41-year-old Italian goalkeeper was played by Maurizio Sarri when he hosted Ivan Juric’s Verona.
Juventus won 2-1 in the match which took place on Saturday (9/21) PM. Two Juventus goals were scored by Aaron Ramsey (31 ‘) and Cristiano Ronaldo’s penalty (49’), while Verona’s goal was scored by Miguel Veloso.
“This is very satisfying, for my age, my career, and seeing it all again I realize I have lived a very great life and an exciting career that I always wanted,” Buffon said as quoted by Football-Italy.
