DBasia.news – LUMUT: Selangor has been warned when they beat Kelantan 4-0 in the 19th Malaysia Games (SUKMA) soccer match at TLDM Stadium, Lumut.
Selangor, who had strong support from their supporters including Chief, Amirudin Shari was clearly superior to Kelantan in the Group D fight.
With that victory, Selangor jumped to the top above Kedah, which also made a 3-0 victory over Pahang. Mohamad Haris Lajid’s squad’s tidy formation resulted to Selangor dominating the game.
Ahmad Ikhwan Hafiz and Muhammad Arrieffahmi managed to open the field in 15 minutes but failed to beat Mohd Syafiq Zulkifli in Kelantan’s side.
Kelantan tried to rival the opponents and managed to make the opponents worry but Mohamad Fazrul Amir’s hasty action resulted to Cik Siti Wan Kembang missing the chance to score.
However, Selangor’s efforts finally succeeded when Mohd Rusyaidi Rodzi fired past Syafiq in the 35th minute.
Two minutes later, Syafiq was defeated when Muhammad Azizul Baharuddin snatched the ball from the goalkeeper to shoot into an empty goal allowing Selangor to be comfortable ahead.
Kelantan tried to rise in the second half and created a lot of opportunities but their weakness prevented them. Selangor scored two more goals through Ariff Ar-Rashid Ariffin and Shafizi Ikmal Md Khaiduddin in the 75th and 77th minute to complete their win. Meanwhile, Sabah and Melaka draw 2-2 in Group C at Parit Buntar Mini Stadium.
