Gomez Is Satisfied with Persib’s Achievement

DBasia.news – Persib Bandung coach Mario Gomez admitted his excitement of the squad’s achievement. He said that after the team defeated Arema FC in the 21st-week match of 2018 Liga 1 at Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium, Gedebage, Bandung, Thursday (13/9).

Persib Bandung won with a 2-0 score. Atep scored at 43′ and Bojan Malisic at 63′.

“I think we can play well due to our fit condition hence the victory. This is an important match for us because it’s home match,” Mario Gomez said after the match.

Mario Gomez was doubting this match because some players are still awkward after the 2018 Asian Games break.

“This is our first match after one-month off. We aren’t comfortable yet handling the ball, but that’s normal because we didn’t conduct many friendly matches due to the location in Bandung. Most importantly, we won and everyone worked. All worked for the victory,” he said.

The Argentinian coach expects this winning as the motivation for his squad to enhance the performance in the upcoming match against Borneo FC at Batakan Stadium Balikpapan on Monday (17/9).

“We lost Bojan Malisic due to the accumulation of yellow cards and he can’t play on Monday, we will send Sabil. We have four days, it’s short but we have to play and other teams do that, too.”

“Today we will celebrate the victory and tomorrow we will think about the match against Borneo. We know Borneo is strong and just defeated in last minute, I remember,” he emphasized.
