Griezmann Told His Feeling When Refusing Barcelona

But far before he gained the success in the World Cup, Barcelona kept on eyeing him. In a chance, he admitted that refusing Barcelona was a difficult decision that he took to stay in Atletico Madrid.
The winner of 2018 World Cup with France national team was also rumored with the transfer possibility to Camp Nou during the previous summer transfer market, but eventually, he chose to stay with Los Rojiblancos.
Moreover, the 27-year-old striker insisted his future with Atletico by signing the new five-year contract.
“It’s like when you get love at home. You’re not going to go anywhere else,” Griezmann told L’Equipe.
“At the club, they’ve done everything to make me feel good, including efforts to sign important players and create a great team.”
“I feel like the base, or the most important piece of the puzzle. That’s what made me stay.”
“It’s hard to say no to clubs like Barca but, really, I’m fine here. It’s my home and I want to do something great.”
