Hijacking Kevin De Bruyne’s Interview, Steve Bruce: He Will Join Newcastle United!

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Newcastle United may be eliminated from the FA Cup by Manchester City on Monday (29/6) AM, but Steve Bruce clearly likes what he saw from Kevin De Bruyne.

De Bruyne displayed his influence in City’s dominant 2-0 victory at St James’ Park, with him opening the scoring from the penalty spot in the first half following Fabian Schar’s foul on Gabriel Jesus.

The goal sent the defending champion to victory in the quarter-finals before Raheem Sterling wrapped it up shortly after Dwight Gayle missed the chance to equalize from a close range.

De Bruyne’s brilliant performance has made the former Manchester United captain, Bruce praise him, who also scored a magical goal for City in their Premier League meeting against the Magpies in November, and he jokingly said Newcastle would bring the Belgian superstar.

Interrupting De Bruyne’s post-match interview with City, Newcastle manager, Bruce approached De Bruyne who was just smiling and told the reporter: “He will stay here.

“He will stay here, come here – this is exclusive from Newcastle tonight. He has had enough with Manchester City and he will come and play for Newcastle.”

Bruce then confirmed the arrival of one new player after the game, namely former Motherwell goalkeeper, Mark Gillespie on a free transfer.

Newcastle themselves could soon be in a position to bring in more expensive players according to the club’s planned purchase of a controversial Saudi consortium, which is still being investigated by the Premier League.

However, with the remaining question marks related to the deal, Bruce has asked for clarity so that his club could stay focused for the rest of the season.

“I think everyone needs a little clarity,” Bruce continued. “And if I’m led to believe that the Premier League is stopping all negotiations, then they have to come and make a decision sooner or later.

“That is not healthy for anyone. As I said for myself, and we now have another match on Wednesday and we have an amazing opportunity.

“We cannot use [the club’s purchase plan] as an excuse but we need a little clarity,” he added.
