Hong Kong: Indonesia and Palestina the Main Threat in U-23 Asian Games

By news-admin

DBasia.news – The U-23 Hong Kong national team coach Guo Jianuo mentioned the host country Indonesia and Palestine would be the two difficult opponents to qualify the group phase. He uttered it before the departure of the U-23 Hong Kong national team squad to Indonesia.

Hong Kong are in the same group with Indonesia and Palestina, also with Laos and Taiwan.

The U-23 Hong Kong national team would start the journey by playing against Laos on August 10 before the rest on August 12 and have the next match versus Taiwan (15/8), Palestine (17/8), and Indonesia 20/8).

“We have to play 4 matches in 11 days. The break is shortened. I hope the players prepare the mind as soon as possible. The first two matches have to be won to boost the confidence of the next match. I think Indonesia and Palestine would be hard,” Guo Jianuo told Sports Road.

Guo Jianuo believed the quarter-final target could be achieved. He explained that the player prepared well.

“The training atmosphere was great. They knew that the opportunity to participate in Asian Games wasn’t easy. It might be the only chance. They show the eagerness to play. So I believe to pass the group qualification,” he added.

Hong Kong went to Indonesia on Wednesday (8/8), one day after Taiwan and Laos. While Palestine were still playing in the last match of the U-23 international tournament in Vietnam.
